Q1: Are your crochet plushies safe for babies and young children?
A: Yes! Every Loops & Paws plushie is made with child-safe materials. I use lock-in safety eyes, hypoallergenic polyester stuffing, and thoroughly check each piece before shipping. For children under 3, I recommend my safety-eye-free designs with embroidered features.
Q2: How long does it take to make each plushie?
A: Each plushie is hand-crocheted from start to finish. A small keychain takes 1–2 hours, a standard plushie takes 4–8 hours, and larger pieces can take 10–15+ hours. Because everything is handmade, each one is unique.
Q3: What materials do you use?
A: I primarily use high-quality acrylic yarn (Stylecraft Special DK and Paintbox Yarns) and premium chenille yarn (Himalaya Dolphin Baby) for extra-soft plushies. All stuffing is hypoallergenic polyester fibrefill, and we use safety eyes .
Q4: How do I wash my crochet plushie?
A: Hand wash gently in cool water with mild soap. Squeeze out excess water (never wring), reshape, and lay flat to dry. Avoid machine washing and tumble drying, as this can damage the stitching and shape.
Q5: Do you take custom orders?
A: Yes! I love creating custom plushies. Contact me through the shop with your idea (preferred animal, colours, and size), and I’ll send you a quote and timeline. Custom orders typically take 2–3 weeks.
Q6: How much is UK shipping?
A: UK shipping is free on orders over £25. For smaller orders, flat-rate UK shipping is £2.99 with tracking. All orders are dispatched within 3–5 business days.
Q7: Do you ship internationally?
A: Yes, I ship to Europe and worldwide via Royal Mail International. International shipping starts from £6.99 (Europe) and £10.99 (rest of world). Delivery takes 5–10 business days depending on destination.
Q8: What is your returns policy?
A: I want you to love your plushie! Standard items can be returned within 14 days if unused and in original packaging. Custom-made items are non-refundable. If your order arrives damaged, please contact me within 48 hours with photos and I’ll arrange a replacement.
Q9: Can I sell your plushies or use them commercially?
A: My plushies are sold for personal use and gifting only. Please contact me to discuss wholesale or commercial licensing.
Q10: What makes handmade crochet plushies different from shop-bought toys?
A: Every crochet plushie is unique, no two are exactly identical because they’re made by hand, not machine. They’re more durable than many factory-made plushies, use higher-quality materials, and carry the personal touch of a real maker who cares about every detail.
Q11: How old are you, really? A 13 and 11 year-old run this business?
A: Yes, really! We are 13 and 11 and we make everything myself. My parents help with the business side (shipping, payments, legal stuff) but every plushie is designed and crocheted entirely by me. I balance school, homework, and crochet; it’s my favourite way to spend my free time.

A: Amigurumi is the Japanese art of crocheting or knitting small stuffed toys. The word comes from the Japanese words “ami” (crocheted or knitted) and “nuigurumi” (stuffed doll). It’s become hugely popular worldwide because of the adorable, characterful results.
