Q1: Are your crochet plushies safe for babies and young children?
A: Yes! Every Loops & Paws plushie is made with child-safe materials. We use lock-in safety eyes, hypoallergenic polyester stuffing, and thoroughly check each piece before shipping. For children under 3, we recommend a custom plushie with embroidered eyes and no small parts.
Q2: How long does it take to make each plushie?
A: Each plushie is hand-crocheted from start to finish. A standard plushie takes 4–8 hours, and larger pieces can take 10–15+ hours. Because everything is handmade, each one is unique.
Q3: What materials do you use?
A: Our plushies are crocheted with super-soft chenille yarns (Feels Like Bliss, Dolce and Parfait Chunky), plus chunky blanket yarn for some larger pieces. All stuffing is hypoallergenic polyester fibrefill, and we use lock-in safety eyes, or embroidered eyes for children under 3.
Q4: How do I wash my crochet plushie?
A: Hand wash gently in cool water with mild soap. Squeeze out excess water (never wring), reshape, and lay flat to dry. Avoid machine washing and tumble drying, as this can damage the stitching and shape.
Q5: Do you take custom orders?
A: Yes! We love creating custom plushies. Contact us through the shop with your idea (preferred animal, colours, and size), and we’ll send you a quote and timeline. Custom orders typically take 2–3 weeks.
Q6: How much is UK shipping?
A: UK shipping is free on orders over £50. For smaller orders, flat-rate UK shipping is £2.99 with tracking. All orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days.
Q7: Do you ship internationally?
A: Not at the moment. We currently deliver to UK addresses only.
Q8: What is your returns policy?
A: We want you to love your plushie! Standard items can be returned within 14 days if unused and in original packaging. Custom-made items are non-refundable. If your order arrives damaged, please contact us within 48 hours with photos and we’ll arrange a replacement.
Q9: Can I sell your plushies or use them commercially?
A: Our plushies are sold for personal use and gifting only. Please contact us to discuss wholesale orders.
Q10: What makes handmade crochet plushies different from shop-bought toys?
A: Every crochet plushie is unique, no two are exactly identical because they’re made by hand, not machine. They’re more durable than many factory-made plushies, use higher-quality materials, and carry the personal touch of a real maker who cares about every detail.
Q11: What is amigurumi?
A: Amigurumi is the Japanese art of crocheting or knitting small stuffed toys. The word comes from the Japanese words “ami” (crocheted or knitted) and “nuigurumi” (stuffed doll). It’s become hugely popular worldwide because of the adorable, characterful results.
