At Loops & Paws, we believe that everyone should be able to browse, shop, and enjoy our handmade crochet plushies. We are a small family-run business made up of two young sisters, and we are genuinely committed to making our website accessible to as many people as possible, including people with disabilities.
This accessibility statement applies to https://www.loopsandpaws.co.uk and all its pages.
Our Commitment
We want everyone who visits loopsandpaws.co.uk to have a warm, welcoming experience, regardless of ability or the tools they use to browse the web. We are working to make our website conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA standard. This is the standard recommended by the UK Government for public-facing websites.
How Accessible Our Website Is
We have taken the following steps to make our website accessible:
-
All images have descriptive alternative (alt) text so screen readers can describe them aloud.
-
Our colour palette has been chosen to meet WCAG AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text).
-
The website can be navigated using only a keyboard, with clear visible focus indicators.
-
Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
-
Our pages use proper semantic headings (H1, H2, H3) so screen readers can navigate logically.
-
Form fields (including checkout) have clear labels and error messages.
-
The site is fully responsive and works on mobile phones, tablets, and desktop computers.
-
We avoid relying on colour alone to communicate information.
-
Videos (where used) include captions.
-
Links have descriptive text so their purpose is clear out of context.
Known Limitations
We are honest about the areas where our website is not yet fully accessible. As a small business we are working on these improvements, and we aim to resolve them as soon as possible:
-
Some older blog post images may not yet have full alt text; we are updating these on a rolling basis.
-
Our website is built on Wix, which uses some third-party widgets (such as the Instagram feed) whose accessibility we cannot fully control.
-
PDF files (such as product care guides) may not be fully screen-reader optimised. If you need the information in an alternative format, please contact us and we will send it to you.
-
Very long product descriptions may not yet have summary headings for easier screen-reader navigation.

Ongoing Improvements
We are a small business run by two young sisters, but accessibility matters to us. We review this statement regularly and aim to keep improving. Our planned improvements for the next 12 months include:
-
Adding captions and transcripts to all new video content on the website and social media.
-
Reviewing every product page description for screen-reader clarity.
-
Running quarterly accessibility audits as we add new pages and products.
-
Training ourselves on best practices for creating accessible social media content.
Thank you for visiting Loops & Paws. We genuinely appreciate your feedback; it helps us build a better shop for everyone.
With love and loops,
Alba & Andrea
